Colina Washburn (rubyleesmom, #3408) has received a certificate of achievement in Cleaning Up for earning a Beginner, Intermediate, and Expert Level Recycling Merit Badge!
“Our community offers many opportunities for recycling. We have 2 recycling centers as well as many containers throughout the county for cardboard, glass, newspapers and plastic. It makes it very easy and convenient.
My family and I have been recycling our cardboard, aluminum cans, and plastic bottles for several years now. The last 3 years or so we have bagged all the aluminum cans up and taken them every few months to the recycling center. The money received goes directly into my child’s college savings fund.
It is amazing to see how much we actually use that can be recycled. Also it has been a wonderful learning experience for my daughter and has taught her responsibility.
Recently we have gotten some of our extended family on board to recycle the cans. We will continue to try to do our part to help the environment.”
