  8. Wanda C. Bamberg says:

My summer in the sun will be in my dreams. I am not allowed in the sun/heat because of health issues. But I still use sunscreen and take special care of my skin. I used to be in the sun. As a child I roamed our East Texas woods, pine trees, and Daddy’s cotton fields. We went to the Gulf Coast and enjoyed the water and breezes. That was in the olden days of the 40s and 50s when sunscreen wasn’t around and the only protection was a Granny Hat. Yes, I blistered, and blistered over and over. Thank the Lord I have not acquired skin cancer. Others have not been so fortunate. Wanda 🙂

We love hiking ancient trails where petroglyphs canvas the rocks, discovering springs in the mountains, or journeying on the backs of horses…..especially my daughter whose taking Western riding lessons. To refresh ourselves from the desert sun, we often go swimming and let’s just say, the air is thin up here so our pale skin can take a beating if we’re not prepared. Beyond the everyday gardening and activities, we plan on taking day and weekend trips around the southwest to get to know our new state.

Our busy lives up here on Cedarhedge ranch in Northwest Wyoming can call for long days in the sun building fence, feeding and caring for our small herd of cattle, three user friendly horses, five laying hens, and Hank the cow dog!! Summer heat demands much irrigation which in turn illicits too many prosperous weeds, causing irradication! ( Is that a word?!) Oh my!! My husband and I certainly enjoy our lives here where we are surrounded by ten mountain ranges all in full view. Panoramic really! Now that the Fourth of July has passed, Christmas plans aren’t far behind!
