As in,<\/p>\n<p><em>PLEACH! <\/em>(Translation: Momma, I need a worm NOW!)<\/p>\n<p>Nope, that&#8217;s not it. Try again.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe it&#8217;s shorthand (shortmouth?)\u2014a new slang term around the orchard, as in:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Please pass the peach!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Uh-huh. Not even close.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m grasping at straws, aren&#8217;t I? (How farmer of me.)<\/p>\n<p>Pleach [pleech] is a verb that means to interweave or braid. Think branches, vines, wreaths, arbors \u2026<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">hair!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-14052\" title=\"gleaming_word-pleach-6214\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/gleaming_word-pleach-6214.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Nearly every morning, I\u00a0pleach my locks before heading out to work around the farm (keeps &#8217;em from pleaching with berry brambles and the like).<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m partial to basic braiding most days, but sometimes I get a wild hair to primp with more panache. I want to try out some of the pleachy-keen tutorials at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dreamweaverbraiding.com\/Braiding_Tips.htm\">Dream Weaver Braiding<\/a>. Perhaps I can beseech Meggie and the grandgirls to partake in a pleaching party this afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, I&#8217;ll ask nicely \u2026<\/p>\n<p>Pretty pleach?\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pleach.
