That cutie-pie British fella formerly known as \u201cThe Naked Chef\u201d \u2026?), Food Revolution Day celebrates the chance to share your food knowledge, know-how, resources, and recipes.<\/p>\n<p>Your mission in this revolution? To get back to basics or, as Jamie puts it, to stand up for real food.<\/p>\n<p>And, most importantly, to help others discover the joys of healthy, fresh food choices.<\/p>\n<p>If I know my farmgirls, you gals are all over this one already.<\/p>\n<p>Inspiring change and living healthy \u2026 that\u2019s kind of our thing, right?!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">So, ready to revolutionize??<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-14221\" title=\"gift_for_gab-food_revolution\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/gift_for_gab-food_revolution.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"464\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Food Revolution (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodrevolutionday.com\">www.foodrevolutionday.com<\/a>) website has all kinds of ideas, lists, recipes, and other helpful tools for you to use to organize your own revolution. Or, just enter your zip code and find an event in your area.<\/p>\n<p>Dying to dazzle your friends with your mad culinary skills?! Well, this is the day to do it.<\/p>\n<p>Host a dinner party at home, organize a potluck at work, attend or teach a cooking class, or share your favorite recipe or some goodies from your garden.<\/p>\n<p>Remember\u2014the key is to promote locally sourced, fresh, and healthy ingredients.<\/p>\n<p>No processed foods? No problem!<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s some news that knocks my socks off \u2026 statistics show that kids now are the third generation who won\u2019t know how to cook, and 42 million children under the age of 5 are already grappling with obesity.<\/p>\n<p>Now, that\u2019s a problem.<\/p>\n<p>The good news is that kids who are educated about healthy foods tend to have healthier habits as they grow up, and good folks like Jamie are working hard to get food education back in schools.<\/p>\n<p>As a part of your Food Revolution, why not ask your child\u2019s school about their curriculum for food education, or what steps they\u2019ve taken to bring fresh foods into their lunch program? If you\u2019re not sure how to do this, the Food Revolution website has a downloadable booklet loaded with advice.<\/p>\n<p>Just like very grassroots revolution, the Food Revolution will happen through people who care.<\/p>\n<p>In other words\u2014us.<\/p>\n<p>So, talk it up, girls.
