SAUSAGES WITH APPLE RINGS
\nPREP TIME: 15 MINUTES
\nCOOK TIME: 30 MINUTES
\nMAKES: 4 SERVINGS<\/p>\n

2\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0T olive oil
\n4\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0sausages (about 1 lb, the type and flavor is up to you)
\n4\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0apples
\n1\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0cup sugar
\n1\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0cup water
\n\u00bd \u00a0 head green cabbage, shredded (about 6 cups)<\/p>\n

1. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add the sausages and\u00a0cook fully. Remove sausages from pan and place on a cutting board until they are cool enough to slice. Reserve the cooking oil for the cabbage.
\n2. Core apples and slice into rings that are about \u00bc\u201d thick. In a large saucepan, combine water and sugar and bring to a simmer. Add apple rings to the saucepan and simmer until they are tender (about 5-7 minutes), stirring occasionally.
\n3. Meanwhile, slice the sausages and over medium heat, re-heat the skillet that the sausage was cooked in and then, add cabbage. Toss it around in the pan to evenly coat. Cook the cabbage for 2-3 minutes, or until tender-crisp.
\n4. Spoon cabbage onto a platter, then add cooked apple rings, and top with sliced sausage.<\/p>\n
