I&#8217;m the \u2026 monia?<\/p>\n<p><em>You de monia.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Okay, I don&#8217;t have <em>pneumonia <\/em>if that&#8217;s what you mean. In fact, I&#8217;m feeling pert, perky, in the pink, positively \u2026<\/p>\n<p><em>Not <\/em>pneumonia<em>, silly! Sound it out: Yoo-di-moh-nee-uh.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>AH-HA! You said &#8220;eudemonia&#8221;!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><em>Now we&#8217;re talking.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Heck, yes, I am steeped in eudemonia (which, I might add, is a whole lot better than being socked in with pneumonia).<\/p>\n<p>The Greek word eudemonia connotes happiness, but it means more than mere merriment, my friends. Let&#8217;s look to the lingo of Aristotle.<\/p>\n<p>Philosophy 101 (dig a little deeper, probe the profound) \u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Eudaimonia\">Eudemonia<\/a> literally translates as something more like &#8220;the state of having a good indwelling spirit&#8221; or &#8220;happiness as the result of an active life governed by reason.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>For the sake of farmgirl frugality, let&#8217;s call it a state of flourishing and leave it at that.<\/p>\n<p>I de monia!<\/p>\n<p>Are you de monia?\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m \u2026 what?
