How cool is that?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17630\" title=\"geography-toronto-377\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-377.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This is the second time we&#8217;ve stayed in the Marriott just off Trinity Square\u2014a church that has been surrounded &#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8230; on all four sides by development.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17631\" title=\"geography-toronto-442\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-442.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Built in 1847, the church is lovely and\u00a0is the hub for constant gatherings, services, and wondrous singing that fills the square!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17632\" title=\"geography-toronto-416\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-416.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17633\" title=\"geography-toronto-284\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-284.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The stained glass windows are breathtaking. One can walk into the church at any time of the day. As I sat there one day, I was asked by a\u00a0woman if I&#8217;d care to stay for soup. Canadians are over-the-top friendly. Toronto is big and busy like NYC, but everyone has a small-town smile\/attitude. I am in LOVE with Canadians.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17634\" title=\"geography-toronto-421\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-421.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">My grandgirls helped me buy the perfect umbrella in the HUGE Sears store right next door where my bedding is for sale.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17635\" title=\"geography-toronto-443\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-443.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">There was a book sale one day in the church square. I noticed during the sale that the outside benches were full of people reading books. Later that evening, after the sale was over, the benches were full of people talking on cell phones and texting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17636\" title=\"geography-toronto-274\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-274.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Right next to the church and only a few feet from our hotel was the entry into the biggest mall I&#8217;ve ever set foot in.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17638\" title=\"geography-toronto-408\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-408.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I looked up and said, &#8220;This is the place!&#8221; In a few hours, Meg and I would be offering our crafting class by the main entrance of the Sears store.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17640\" title=\"geography-toronto-386\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-386.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Three floors. I felt a bit of vertigo coming on.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17641\" title=\"geography-toronto-404\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-404.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The entire building is just one big skylight.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17643\" title=\"geography-toronto-398\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-398.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We made new friends that day and filled all the seats.\u00a0Thank you for coming!!!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17644\" title=\"geography-toronto-251\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-251.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17645\" title=\"geography-toronto-265\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-265.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"290\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We had lots of fun giveaways and stories to share.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17646\" title=\"geography-toronto-252\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-252.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"267\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Our work accomplished, we went to one of Toronto&#8217;s white-sand city beaches. Clean and gorgeous. There was a jazz festival going on all week with venues happening simultaneously in dozens of locations around the city. The beach had live music that the grandgirls danced to.\u00a0We missed Norah Jones&#8217; live performance right across from our hotel by a day. Would have loved to hear her sing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17647\" title=\"geography-toronto-330\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-330.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17648\" title=\"geography-toronto-343\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-343.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The next day, we hopped into two taxis (red and yellow) and &#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17649\" title=\"geography-toronto-463\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-463.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">turqoise and orange, to spend time in the distillery district. Loved the happy, bright colors of the taxis in Toronto.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17650\" title=\"geography-toronto-460\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-460.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Cobblestone streets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17652\" title=\"geography-toronto-309\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-309.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Flowers everywhere.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17654\" title=\"geography-toronto-478\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-478.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Little garden shops along the way.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17656\" title=\"geography-toronto-490\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-490.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Farmgirl decor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17657\" title=\"geography-toronto-519\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-519.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Organic beer!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17659\" title=\"geography-toronto-511\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-511.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And &#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17660\" title=\"geography-toronto-517\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-517.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"260\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0&#8230; doors like in the movie Hugo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-17662\" title=\"geography-toronto-331\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/geography-toronto-331.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good morning Canada!
