You\u2019re probably going to fall asleep when I say for the hundredth time, I LOVE holidays. Big or small, I love any excuse to celebrate.\u00a0Our trusty ol\u2019 <a href=\"http:\/\/shop.maryjanesfarm.org\/store\/c\/69-Calendars.aspx\">MaryJanesFarm Calendar <\/a>has quite a few lesser-known holidays I&#8217;m having fun with this month.<\/p>\n<p>In honor of Friendship Day that happened on August 5 and Girlfriends\u2019 Day last week on August 1, and Best Friends\u2019 Day coming up on August 15, I\u2019m taking one of my &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; craftiest girlfriends on a road trip (August 17 is National Thrift Shop Day\u2014perfect for a road trip).<\/p>\n<p>Bonnie and I met on an airplane when I sat down next to her with a fresh cinnabon. She said, \u201cI can\u2019t believe you haven\u2019t offered me some.\u201d After chatting it up the entire flight, it got a bit awkward when I had to ask her for her phone number at baggage claim. Or wait, did she ask me for mine?\u00a0 We can\u2019t remember the details or who called who or if we waited the appropriate amount of time before one of us made the first call.\u00a0 Who knows? Who cares? It was a match made \u2026 in the clouds.<\/p>\n<p>Ever since then, we\u2019ve been daydreaming about a trip together. Traveling to a far-off place by plane is high on our list, but for now we\u2019re staying close to home and we couldn\u2019t be more excited. Check out our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elainetolson.com\/category\/artretreats\/\">destination<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So here\u2019s to girlfriends, friendship, best friends, and the month of August for celebrating such things. Stay tuned for September celebrations, things like Good Neighbor Day.\u00a0Wait, I\u2019m getting ahead of myself. August 26 is Women\u2019s Equality Day and Global Forgiveness Day comes the day after.<\/p>\n<p>Hmmm, how about back to shopping.
