I recalled this old autumnal rhyme<\/p>\n

Just in the nick of frosting time!<\/p>\n

But, really …<\/p>\n

Can you believe\u00a0we’re already cuddling up to November?<\/p>\n

As I peer out the window through the soft shadows of an early morning,<\/p>\n

I can see …<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

a velvet layer of frost<\/p>\n

(yesterday it snowed)<\/p>\n

decorating the fences and fields.<\/p>\n

As the old poem predicts,<\/p>\n

the leaves have all been whisked away from deciduous branches by now,<\/p>\n

exposing the ramosity <\/em>of barren trees that are silhouetted against the awakening sky.<\/p>\n

Yup, ramosity.<\/p>\n

The closest guess I could come up with was verbosity<\/em>.<\/p>\n

But, no, the two have little in common.<\/p>\n

Ramosity [ruh-mos-i-tee] stems from ramose,<\/p>\n

pronounced rey-mohs or ruh-mohs,<\/p>\n

whichever you prefer.<\/p>\n

Either way, it’s an adjective that means<\/p>\n

branching, or having many branches.<\/p>\n

So, as you can see,<\/em><\/p>\n

A leafless tree<\/em><\/p>\n

reveals its true<\/em><\/p>\n
