Held in the majestic old growth forests of Salem, Oregon, hundreds of us\u00a0wandered\u00a0the woods by day, learning wilderness skills, plant identification, home herbalism, urban farming, DIY sustainability, and more. (I taught a class on Living an Organic Lifestyle.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2634\" title=\"rootstalk-040602\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/rootstalk-040602.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Held on the grounds of the Oregon 4-H Center, attendees wandered\u00a0the trails dressed in their finest, maps in hands.\u00a0(By night, we danced at a masquerade ball or sat around campfires.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2635\" title=\"rootstalk-1040603\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/rootstalk-1040603.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0The weather was PERFECT. Meeting them was the highlight of my weekend. I promised them I would come straight home and make them some of my &#8220;Organic is the new SEXY!&#8221; buttons to send\u00a0their way. (I&#8217;m going to pamper them with a few other goodies.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2639\" title=\"rootstalk-P1040598\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/rootstalk-P1040598.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0Farmgirl\u00a0Victoria Larson from Damascus, Oregon kept herself busy engaging others as she talked about her work as a Naturopathic Physician.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2640\" title=\"rootstalk-P1040614\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/rootstalk-P1040614.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Farmgirls traveled from as far away as Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colorado, and Canada.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2641\" title=\"rootstalk-P1040617\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/rootstalk-P1040617.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Of course, GREAT farmgirls think alike. We posed for a pic once we realized we&#8217;d all purchased the exact same skirt. I love mine so much, I still have it on! <a href=\"http:\/\/www.avatarimports.net\">www.avatarimports.net<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2644\" title=\"rootstalk-P1040620\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/rootstalk-P1040620.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"288\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I came home nourished to my very core. Thank you Mountain Rose Herbs. Every\u00a0person on your staff was gracious, kind, and generous beyond belief, and your festival has made the world a MUCH better place to inhabit.
