With each season, my poor hubby diligently piled boxes and boxes of ornamentation for me to ooh and aah over and place in the perfect corner. And … well … my craft room had bits and pieces from the last five holidays/events strewn about.

Impressed with ourselves, hubby and I sat down with both girls to have a little morning snack. Why were we so famished at 9:30 a.m. anyway? We’d eaten a good breakfast, hadn’t we??

Maybe it was because …

we’d eaten breakfast at 5 o’clock in the morning! Apparently, little kids don’t really get the whole extra hour of sleep with daylight savings time. They prefer to enjoy that extra hour awake and get started on the day a little earlier than usual.

As we were enjoying our nibbles, we laughed at the amount we might be able to accomplish with 25 hours in a day. This got me to thinking, what would I do if I had 25 hours every day? If there was an extra hour just for doing something special, not an hour that got lost in the mix, but one that was always reserved for the extra … (fill in the blank)

What would you do?

I imagine a lot of folks would keep it in the sleeping section of their day, and I might do so, too, some days. There’s nothing like a good book and a little nap. I think I would often use my extra hour for exercise for a walk and some fresh air. A little fresh air is really like a cup of coffee, a total boost to the rest of the day.

And a family walk is exactly what we did after finishing up our snack.

Our dog enjoys a hike as much as we do.

Stella leads the way.

Mia and Stella are always up for a walk.
