I held it behind my back and surprised her with it when she came to get me for a Friday night just-the-two-of-us sleepover.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-30064\" title=\"_MG_3204 (Custom)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/MG_3204-Custom.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I used a blank flour sack towel,\u00a0tapestry needle (blunt with big eye),\u00a0water-erasable marker,\u00a0pair of scissors, and a\u00a0variety of 6-strand embroidery floss to make her gift. I created the design myself and then my mother helped with the knotting and threading of the needle. I used all 6 strands.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-30065\" title=\"_MG_3206 (Custom)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/MG_3206-Custom.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/p>\n<p>During our sleepover, &#8220;Nan&#8221; helped me start another gift towel for Kim. It didn&#8217;t take me more than a few seconds to come up with the design for her towel\u2014the words, Cowgirl Kim OMG!\u00a0next to a pink cowgirl boot. (Nan helped me draw the boot but I did the lettering.)<\/p>\n<p>Nan and I made a list of all the things we wanted to accomplish during our afternoon, night, and morning together\u2014things like:<\/p>\n<p>-start a knitted scarf<\/p>\n<p>-take her dog Tulip for a long\u00a0walk<\/p>\n<p>-gather eggs<\/p>\n<p>-take a bubble bath<\/p>\n<p>-fix a big salad from the greenhouse for\u00a0our dinner<\/p>\n<p>-sort buttons<\/p>\n<p>-fix a breakfast of potatoes, bacon, English muffins, eggs, and fresh oranges (It was YUMMY!)<\/p>\n<p>I want my Nanny Jane to want me back again real soon so I did things like make the bed without being asked and I also cleaned up\u00a0after myself. Nanny Jane told me that when she was my age, she also spent weekends with her grandmother\u00a0and slept in the very bed that we now sleep in together!
