A study in Australia found that 34 milligrams of the celery seed extract taken twice daily for three weeks reduced patients&#8217; pain scores anywhere from 68 to 100 percent.<\/li>\n<li>helps replenish electrolytes after vigorous exercise (celery juice is particularly effective because it contains high levels of potassium and sodium).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Celery is one of those foods that you definitely want to buy organic every time. It ranks high on the Environmental Working Group&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thekitchn.com\/decide-when-to-buy-organic-with-the-ewgs-2013-dirty-dozen-list-188691\">Dirty Dozen list<\/a> (number two in 2013), and USDA tests have found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whatsonmyfood.org\/food.jsp?food=CE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">more than 60<\/a> different pesticides on celery.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, now is the perfect time to plan for next season&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.organicgardening.com\/learn-and-grow\/celery-growing-guide\">crop<\/a> of this fabulous\u00a0fall-flourishing veggie because in a year from now you could be in celery heaven.
