(As is often the case in life in general.) \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>bare<\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"stream _p _pl1 _pd347330\"><span class=\"mtxt\">\u2022 <b>verb<\/b> uncover and reveal.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2>bear<sup>1<\/sup><\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"stream _p _pl1 _pd347330\" id=\"view\"><span class=\"mtxt\">\u2022 <b>verb<\/b> (past <b>bore<\/b>; past part. <b>borne<\/b>) <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>5<\/b> manage to tolerate; endure:<\/span> <i>I can\u2019t bear it.<\/i> <b>6<\/b> (<b>cannot bear<\/b>) strongly dislike. <b>7<\/b> give birth to (a child). <b>8<\/b> (of a tree or plant) produce (fruit or flowers). <b>9<\/b> turn and proceed in a specified direction: <i>bear left.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 PHRASE <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>bear with<\/b> be patient or tolerant with.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>So the confusion falls with what &#8220;bear&#8221; means. It&#8217;s not the noun, like grizzly or black bear, but the verb. And to say &#8220;please <em>bare<\/em> with me&#8221; is suggesting someone ought to get naked with you. Oops!
