We’re talking landscapes<\/i> here.<\/p>\n
Blanketing snowy slopes in the French Alps, Beck’s exquisitely ephemeral works are to mountainsides what crop circles are to farm fields.<\/p>\n

And even though the creator of the snow quilts takes full credit for his work (unlike those pesky “alien” crop circlers!), it’s still a marvelous mystery to me how he executes them so flawlessly with just an orienteering compass and a pair of snowshoes.<\/p>\n

What marvelous meditation it must be.<\/p>\n
Needless to say, the next time I’m pecking away with needle and thread, I will be thinking of Simon Beck’s feet stitching perfect patterns in the snow.<\/p>\n
