I really tried. I soooooooo wanted them to want me.\u00a0I put out a cardboard box and a brand-new starter hive.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image aligncenter size-full wp-image-50110\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/bees_3278.jpg\" alt=\"bees_3278\" width=\"360\" height=\"478\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I watched and waited.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image aligncenter size-full wp-image-50111\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/bees_3290.jpg\" alt=\"bees_3290\" width=\"360\" height=\"481\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And then I watched some more.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image aligncenter size-full wp-image-50112\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/bees_3307.jpg\" alt=\"bees_3307\" width=\"360\" height=\"275\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I tried to entice them with a fresh batch of sugar water.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image aligncenter size-full wp-image-50113\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/bees_3333.jpg\" alt=\"bees_3333\" width=\"360\" height=\"457\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve read that when bees swarm they send out designated scouts to look for new digs. Apparently, they weren&#8217;t checking ME out.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image aligncenter size-full wp-image-50114\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/bees_3337.jpg\" alt=\"bees_3337\" width=\"360\" height=\"459\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After two days, they were gone.\u00a0If anyone out there has a suggestion as to what I can try\u00a0the next time I find a honeybee swarm in my garden, please tell all!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image aligncenter size-full wp-image-50115\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/bees-2_3307.jpg\" alt=\"bees-2_3307\" width=\"360\" height=\"258\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I tried.
