The land that family farmers cultivate to grow fresh food for our families is disappearing from under their feet. One acre of farmland has been lost to unchecked development every minute of every day in the U.S. At that rate, all the farms at your farmers&#8217; market could be wiped out in less than an hour.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/farmers-market-IMG_3971.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image aligncenter size-full wp-image-50571\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/farmers-market-IMG_3971.jpg\" alt=\"farmers-market-IMG_3971\" width=\"360\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Farmers&#8217; markets provide a vital link from farmers to shoppers.\u00a0AFT&#8217;s I Love My Farmers Market Celebration works to raise national awareness about farmers&#8217; markets. Participants pledge dollars they intend to spend at their farmers&#8217; markets each week, then the Top 100 most celebrated markets will receive a special logo honoring their achievement, AFT&#8217;s \u201cNo Farms, No Food\u201d gear, and recognition on the Celebration\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p>Pledges can be cast at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lovemyfarmersmarket.org\">LoveMyFarmersMarket.org<\/a>.
