A true clerihew must contain \u2026<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>A bit of wit<\/li>\n<li>Four lines of uneven length with the rhyming scheme AABB<\/li>\n<li>The name of the subject within the first line<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>But, wait\u2014there&#8217;s more \u2026<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Edmund_Clerihew_Bentley\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Edmund Clerihew Bentley<\/span><\/a> (1875-1956), originator of the form (at age 16!), a true clerihew will either a) position the subject&#8217;s name at the <em>end<\/em> of the first line, or b) use only the name as the first line. Why? Because the whole point of the poem, he declared, is to rhyme with awkward names.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe I need to take another stab at it?
