{"id":64646,"date":"2017-09-12T00:09:07","date_gmt":"2017-09-12T07:09:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/?p=64646"},"modified":"2017-09-12T00:09:07","modified_gmt":"2017-09-12T07:09:07","slug":"get-on-the-forest-bus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/64646","title":{"rendered":"Get on the Forest Bus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\tIn the concrete jungle of Taipei, capitol city of Taiwan, I imagine residents often long for nature.<\/p>\n<p>Like, <em>deeply <\/em>long.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_64647\" style=\"width: 511px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-64647\" class=\"wp-image-64647\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/1_taipei_sunrise_panorama_2015.jpg\" width=\"501\" height=\"204\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-64647\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo by Chensiyuan via Wikimedia Commons<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Tapping into this profound longing, florist Alfie Lin accepted a commission from the Beautiful Touch Association to fancy up a Taipei city bus with the trappings of a real, live forest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope the public will feel that it\u2019s a beautiful and interesting experience,\u201d he told the Agence France-Presse. \u201cThey can smell the scent of summer on the bus and see the vibrant green plants to feel messages from nature.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The forest bus is taking a trial run this month, but Lin hopes it will become a permanently rooted fixture of the city. Passengers like Celine Wei hope so, too. \u201cI feel happy and relaxed on the bus smelling the flowers and plants,\u201d she says. \u201cI hope it can become a regular service on a double-decker.
