If I were stranded on a desert island, this is what I&#8217;d want. There&#8217;s just something about this dish that keeps me coming back for more (AKA &#8230;\u00a0has me pigging out). Follow it exactly and you &#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"growing_jane-lemon_garlic_broccoli-9718\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/growing_jane-lemon_garlic_broccoli-9718.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;\u00a0will never eat broccoli any other way. And don&#8217;t be afraid to cut the tough outer skin off the stems and eat those also. Simply cut into 1\/2 inch rounds and steam\u00a0along with the florets. They are just as tender and full of flavor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image wp-image-7118 aligncenter\" title=\"growing_jane-lemon_garlic_broccoli-9635\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/growing_jane-lemon_garlic_broccoli-9635.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lemon-Garlic Broccoli<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">2 bunches broccoli<br \/>\n1\/4 cup butter<br \/>\n2 cloves garlic, finely minced<br \/>\n1 t salt<br \/>\n1\/2 t pepper<br \/>\n2 T fresh squeezed lemon juice<\/p>\n<p>1. Place bunches of broccoli in a steamer basket inside a medium-size pan with no more than 2 inches of boiling water over high heat. Cover and steam for about 3 minutes, until barely tender. DON&#8217;T overcook!<br \/>\n2. In the meantime, melt butter in a large pan. Add finely minced garlic and saut\u00e9 for about 3 minutes. Remove from heat, add salt, pepper, and fresh squeezed lemon juice.<br \/>\n3. In a bowl, gently toss ingredients. Eat immediately!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Chop up 2 bunches of broccoli florets and place in steamer basket in medium-size pan.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-7119\" title=\"growing_jane-lemon_garlic_broccoli-9659\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/growing_jane-lemon_garlic_broccoli-9659.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">*Optional: Peel off outer skin and steam stem with florets for a tasty snack.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image wp-image-7120\" title=\"growing_jane-lemon_garlic_broccoli-9666\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raisingjane.org\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/growing_jane-lemon_garlic_broccoli-9666.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Melt 1\/4 cup butter in a large pan. Add 2 cloves finely minced garlic and saut\u00e9 for about 3 minutes.
