She took an older, thick placemat, traced an &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;\u00a0oven mitt on it and then stitched her new Sisterhood badge on the back of it. She even went so far as to send me\u00a0a matching placemat so I can log some time on the couch in &#8220;stitch&#8221; therapy. AND she sent me some of her &#8220;Schoolhouse Soaps&#8221; wrapped in a vintage\u00a0hankie that was made using a technique called drawnwork, where tiny threads are pulled from cotton to give it an expensive lace look. This was a turn-of-the-century stitch used on flour sacks by women who couldn&#8217;t affort to buy lace.
