We’ve all heard how important it is to eat a diet high in roughage. Likewise, “roughaging” (spending time outdoors) is essential to our mental health. Even if it’s a settee on the porch, we need it, gotta have it. I aim to be the reason you pulled your bedding out the back door last night.
If you have the gumption to grow just one green thing this spring, make it a geranium.
Don’t let the giggles (or guffaws) from go-getting gardeners get you down. While we’re out groaning over our big, gorgeous garden plots, you can sit back and sip lemonade as you bask in the beauty of your oh-so-easy-to-grow geranium.

It was like a scene out of Ax Men.
My guys were fellin’ trees.
Well, one tree that is. One large, rotting cottonwood tree that sneezed snow all over us every June, grew baby cottonwoods in all my flower beds, and became too fond of leaning in close to our new business facility. Also, last month when we got eight inches of spring snow, one of her biggest branches cracked and dangled over the pathway we all use to go to our barn library.

Hi MaryJane! Love those old cottonwoods! My ” guy ” was a logger in another life I am certain of it! He loves to cut trees, shrubs and brush.. He’s got his eye on one big ugly pin oak that looms over my raised beds for my flower farm… I’ve put the nix on him going any further than removing one large branch.. the one he could reach with the extension ladder that is…I’m going to show him this post!

Oh my goodness, geraniums have been my favorite for many years….two weeks ago I planted 6 dozen seeds and just the other day the seedlings began to emerge….I am so excited.
