flamin’ hot

Get ready for the big change … ok, not really, that’s supposedly coming up on December 22, but there was a solar flare recently, and here’s some colorful, cool footage of how hot it looked …

If you live in Washington D.C., you may have even had the opportunity to see those dazzling northern lights CEMs create. I ain’t too much into Wired Science, which looks almost like weird science. (Isn’t that a kookie ’80s song?) My kind of science is in the dirt, with my animals, and the wires I like are in my tractor, but this is super interesting!

And I do record some of the episodes on the Science channel—LOVE it when Morgan Freeman narrates. They recently had a cool (hot?) program on solar flares that I watched. Fascinatin’ stuffola.

We love to watch that science stuff on TV!! I agree that Morgan Freeman has the perfect narrative voice. What amazes me is how all this activity is happening every day in the universe while I usually don’t think past the sky that I can see. Astronomy has been a love of ,one since I was 7 years old and we studied the planets and the names if clouds. I have been hooked ever since!

I’m new to astronomy thanks to Morgan (we’re definitely on a first-name basis:) What I think I love most about it is how it diminishes me. Goodness, I’m not more important than the moon/sun/cosmos. Great content for helping one not sweat the small stuff.

I have a friend in Colorado that saw the same lights you show above. I guess all you need to do to see somthing amazing is look.
