lollapalooza

It’s a lollapalooza of a word.

Like a lollypop and appaloosa smashed together.

Who doesn’t love both of those?

And … it’s also an event!

Lollapalooza, along with being something that is extraordinarily impressive, is also a festival that takes places in Chicago every summer. Lolla, as it is endearingly nicknamed, brings together bands from all over the U.S. and abroad to rock out. It also features Lolla Cares, which hosts organizations committed to making this world a better, greener, and healthier place. Love it! Last year booths in this arena accomplished signing 313 people up to vote, finding two bone marrow matches for cancer patients, and fostering support for clean energy, education, and park projects in the Chicago area.

Oh my, how concerts have changed! Gone are the hoodlums, and in with conscious living. :] Next year, get lollapaloozed. This 3-day festival is held mid-August and has lots of great rock, food, activities, and merchandise. My favorite, while just peeking around the list, is Greenheart shop. Chicago’s only nonprofit eco-friendly, fair trade store. Greenheart is fair to producers and good to the earth through its support of local, social enterprises and global fair trade partnerships! So cool. Keep up with Lollapalooza’s Facebook, with all of the latest, here.

I love Chicago as it is not only a gorgeous city but it is also a hub of good things happening. There is good energy in the Windy City!
