  1. Winnie Nielsen says:

Old Man Winter working his strength. But, only for a few short months of rest and then the renewal will begin in earnest.

  2. Shelli says:

we installed a 5000 gallon rain water collection tank that collects rain water off of our shop. Last year it allowed us to water the garden the entire year without using our well water!

  3. Shelley D Oliver says:

I save water by waiting until we have a sink of dishes before washing them. We have a recirculating pump so that we don’t have to run the water for a long time before doing dishes, taking a shower, etc. We have low flow toilets and our washer is low water use as well. We have a drip system for our yard, with plenty of mulch to keep the ground moist. We do everything we can to be responsible to Mother Earth.

  4. Janie Percha says:

I catch rainwater so I can use it for my plants and vegetable garden during the summer months.

  1. Winnie Nielsen says:

This feels like a sunrise as I remember a similar sky with coffee looking out the window at the Bunk House kitchen? Those distant hills make me think it is looking East.

    • MaryJane says:

Oops, sunset looking northwest. If you were standing right by the corner of your cottage before you walk along the side of it, you’d see this right in front of you slightly looking toward the ridge. Good morning, Winnie!

      • Winnie Nielsen says:

Good Morning MaryJane! The sky at your farm is just spectacular . That was one of the most impressive aspects of your farm to me. It is nothing short of inspiring and what a joy it must be to you to watch the seasons unfold there.

I am currently at Starbucks filing through the online NYT and Washington Post looking for stability . Lately it has been an exercise to stretch my mind and try and look at possibilities through new lenses. I am thinking the prescription of these new glasses ain’t working out so well!! Meanwhile, the music in the background are some lovely new renditions of old familiar holiday tunes. New eyes and new takes on life are everywhere and I am reminded not to be one of those old timers who can’t open up her mind anymore. I’ve got my work cut out done me!! Lol!! Maybe a new badge will emerge from all of this. Something like….. how to work on a strong footing in the midst of a chaotic sea of waves and endless push and pull?

        • MaryJane says:

We had friends (recently retired) spend the night here last night who’ve been traveling around Asia for three months (they left their car here Sept. 9). They said everyone everywhere, from rickshaw drivers to waiters, etc. were all talking about the election in the U.S. and what it means for them.

  2. MaryBeth says:

Beautiful Sunset, MaryJane. We have had some spectacular ones here too only now we are having gray skies and RAIN.
    Peace and Joy to you
