Grandma’s Apron

A couple of years ago, a poem about aprons caught fire on the Internet. Here’s a newer version (well, new to me). I thought (or rather, I knew) you’d enjoy reading it along with a collection of our apron photos.

Remember making an apron in Home Ec? Remember Home Ec?

The principal use of Grandma’s apron was to protect the dress underneath because she only had a few and because it was easier to wash aprons than dresses and aprons required less material. But along with that, it served as a potholder for removing hot pans from the oven.

Idaho Spuds

Potato harvest in progress. Still more to dig. I grow only a variety called Desiree. They aren’t prone to disease and they keep well into spring without sprouting. And, and, AND, they are TASTY.

Round ’em Up!

Is that a wagon train in the distance?

(On our recent glamp romp to SD, we’d been driving for an hour or so and hadn’t seen any sign of man, beast, or habitat.)

Good golly miss molly … decidedly not. And not a soul in sight, or on site, for that matter. We saw this, um, ghost town in the middle of nowhere. Can’t recall which state we were in, but clearly the state this area was in, wasn’t too good!
