Ask and ye shall receive, the apparel goddess said. Apparently, my word-of-the-week,
brought a new skirt (and well, also a matching jacket) into my life.
I couldn’t believe my lucky lasso.
You know that pondering tilt of the head a person gives a work of art they’ve just completed? Writing about your life is that exactly. You step back, pick up your paint brush, apply a dab of compassion here, a brush stroke of flair over there. Putting your life on canvas allows you to see what your life looks like through the eyes of others.
Going Granny (actually my grandkids call me Nanny) is my best achievement yet! Here’s a phone message my barely two-year grandgirl left for me on my 58th b-day. I guarantee it; this will make your day.

Jane this, Jane that. Jane then, Jane now. Here are some women who really Janed it! Can you add to my Janeology?
Jane Roberts:on Love-
“You must love yourself before you love another.By accepting yourself and fully being what you are…your simple presence can make others happy.”
Jane Pauley:on Pets-
“You can’t look at a sleeping cat and be tense.”
Jane Austin:on Pain and Pleasure-
“Why not seize the pleasure at once? How often is happiness destroyed by preparation, foolish preparation!”
We’re considering a name change for our little Palomino mini-horse, Nutmeg. Today, she fearlessly and ferociously sprung into action to protect her pregnant Jersey pal, Maizy. What did our little “gunner” do?
That’s a precious story! (i’m just scanning back pages to cheer myself up) this helped :)) thanks for sharing it. love horses!
Wow! What a brave little horse she is…was…is! *giggle*
I just listened to your Birthday message from your Grand-Baby. All I could say was awwwww…awwww…awwww….brought tears to my eyes, since I don’t have kids or Grand-kids. THAT was just too precious! Thanks for sharing that with us MaryJane!
…if anyone wonders where they can get one of those magnificent leather masks in the top photo, they are made by Jeremiah, leatherworker extraordinaire (and Mountain Rose employee). His stunning creations can be viewed at http://www.etsy.com/shop/TrygslandMasks?ref=pr_shop_more.

The next morning Meg was back in the ER with chest pain. There was a moment while we were waiting for the elevator that I was no longer the picture of calm. Meg said, “Momma, if my heart is threatening to go haywire, I need to remain calm. And SO DO YOU.”
waiting to hear how you BOTH are today … and praying!
I just talked to Jordan and she told me of your accident!!! Jo Jo has been pretty worried over you Megan!! Speedy recovery sent your way from the Udy household!!!! We love you!!
OK…it has almost been a month. I’m not sure if follow-ups have been posted elsewhere, but I’m concerned about Meg. What did they decide and is Meg OK? Afterall, she is a part of our adopted family.
Sad to have missed this year — looking forward to next year — I’ll be there!
Kudos to everyone who planned, presented, and participated!

Good morning St. Paul. Here we come! http://www.thecreativeconnectionevent.com/ (Stunning view from my hotel room.)
The first event, a luncheon with three speakers was everything and more. Humor, tears, and all things international. Women are one world! Their business advice and presentations were perfect.
My goodness!! Megan, MaryJane come back safe! It is a jungle out there, we miss you and are thinking of you in the design studio this morning. Big hugs! -Carol, Alicia & Ace

O my goodness!! I am a little late with my gasps, just reading this post now….but prayers are sent your way that you are feeling 100% (that goes for both of you!!) I am so glad to hear that you are ok Meg, and MaryJane I can only imagine as a mother how you must have felt.
Blessings to you both- thank you for filling us in, and keeping us part of your lives.
Smiles and Farmgirl Hugs,

“lay and no play … makes Jane a dull girl” was the title of this piece of artwork I picked up at last Saturday’s Farmers’ Market. The Artist is Julene Ewert, http://www.presentbydesign.com/ who recently graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in graphic design.
(Psst, she grew up in a small town in a family of artists. She said her inspiration comes from nature.)
Not only did I love the title of this piece, but it was made using thin layers of beeswax.
How lovely to find my art posted on your blog! Thanks so much for sharing my work.
I adore this print…and everything Julene creates! LOVE your blog too! 🙂

You know you’re a farmgirl when your Nanny is getting ready to leave for a trip so she asks you to get a wet rag so she can clean her boots and they’re covered in … you know what, BUT there’s a frilly pair of socks laying next to them.
Have you heard about the horse diet? Yanno, the one where you drop pounds per day? It involves soaking all your grains first before eating.
You haven’t heard of it?
This is lovely. This must be the week for new outfits. My daughter in law brought me a box of new clothes from a yard sale yesterday and inside among other things there was a cranberry red corduroy jacket a cute black skirt with a kick pleated bottom and a pink shell top that are so cute. Can I say I looked cute in it at my age?
This is one cool outfit!! …Does that jacket have red piping?
Indeed it does! The jacket is new, purchased from a tiny downtown shop we are fortunate to have in our little town. But I couldn’t believe how well old and new matched up for this outift.
It looks as if the whole outfit was simply made to go together! Some of it is luck – you finding these treasures – but some it is having the “eye” for details like you do. AND having a great sense of style that pulls it all together.
….”well I’ll be…..fur on a skirt-hem…..don’t that just beat all!/?”
And it’s quite an ensemble too, I might add!
Love the cute, new word…Befurbelowed! LOL
