What a great idea for a get-together…one nice gift and a plate of goodies. Hmmmm, that might have to be on the to-do list for next year’s farmgirl Christmas shindig.

I always ask the Hostess too. I think it is good manners to offer to leave the dish and sometimes the Hostess wants the food but not the plate. I take the plate home in that case leaving the food behind.

I’m just coming out from under all the tissue paper and ribbon to catch up with my sisters out west!
We had a pot luck Christmas dinner too along with a Yankee swap. That means we all got to go shopping in our basements for a gift to share! That always brings lots of laughs as well as returns from past exchanges. We were honored to hold on to my sis in laws peppermint brownies and a homemade pecan pie made by beach sister Lynn. Yum! Our bunch has been pot-lucking together for some years now. We usually ask each other who wants what and then we wash our own dishes and bring them home.
I love anything wrapped in a plain brown bag with green and red raffia! Nicely done MJ and Meg!
