Hi MaryJane from across the Pond in the lovely fishing village of Port Isac in Cornwall! I am listening to the Atlantic Ocean roll out the daily tide and see the green surf from my window. Getting ready for a walking tour soon.

MaryJane says: This one visits our pond where we also have what I think are two shovelbill ducks. Lucky us!
Shame on you. This was badly photoshopped. I would like to say something great about the piece, and usually your photos are wonderful, however this is a misrepresentation. I don’t expect you to post this, but I think that you should be more careful in the future. A heron would be the size of a humming bird in relation to the pine tree needles. I would like to trust what I see on your webpages and magazine, so please be more believable. Deon
MaryJane says: What is unbelievable is your arrogance. And ignorance. Ponderosa pine needles grow up to 8 inches long. A Great Blue Heron’s size is 3.2 to 4.5 feet standing and their wingspan is 5.5 to 6.6 feet. In this photo, the heron was flying over our pond near our Ponderosa Pine tree with his wings almost fully expanded. There’s no way a Great Blue Heron would compare to a hummingbird in relation to Ponderosa Pine needles. This was shot with a 300mm zoom from across the pond so the only adjustment made was to lighten the photo and crop it. No cut and paste. No photoshop. We didn’t fix or alter our photo. We hope there’s a fix for your attitude.

I think its the most wonderful pic of what i think is a great blue heron? we have alot around here that come for the nearby wildlife sanctuary . I never get tired of seeing them, so majestic.Kudos to you for an exceptional photo!

MaryJane- We just finished touring the little village, Bampton, that was used in Downton Abby!! We had a wonderful guide who is from the tiny town give us a tour. I recognized so many places and it was like I had been there many times. Especially the church where the weddings and funerals took place. Bampton is in the Cotwolds which is this rolling , sheep raising, and agriculture setting. Complete with a few thatched houses, it couldn’t be more charming because it is the real deal!!

I know I am so lucky! It is amazing how a TV show can become so real in your mind. The stop was a surprise and as we drove closer on the bus, the theme song is Downton Abby began to play. The scenery looked so familiar and you can imagine the excitement I felt looking out the window. The actual castle where the family lived is not close to this village but when you are standing in the church yard, you don’t notice that detail! I kept looking for Ms Hughes and Ms Patmore to be walking by with their baskets to do some errands!!Lol!! imagination is a wonderful thing!!
Minnesota state parks and trails celebrated 125 years. I made another quilt for them. Will send a picture next week.
