So pretty with the lacy , frilly petals.

  2. Bonnie ellis says:

Those are so delicate. I can see them in an old blue mason jar with a lace doily under them.

  1. Winnie Nielsen says:

Is this lavender? When visiting my friend in north Idaho for the past two Julys, the lavender was in full bloom there and it was beautiful. It seems like Idaho is the perfect climate for it.

    • MaryJane says:

It isn’t. The white flowers are yarrow and the blue are a type of wild blue bonnet. I’m not sure of the exact name.

  1. Winnie Nielsen says:

More lovely colors from the summer flower garden. A vase of those would be stunning!

  2. Lisa A says:

A quilt based on these colors would also be gorgeous! This is going on my pintrest color inspiration board.

What a cute combo for a down home look. I am imagining a long full skirt to accompany the boots.

  2. bonnie ellis says:

I love the purple…we should all wear more of it. Love the boots too.

  1. Winnie Nielsen says:

Beautiful Summer flowers to brighten any day!

  2. Nancy Coughlin says:

So pretty. Missed so many of the Spring flowerings because I was at my daughter’s home in MI while she had a shoulder replacement done. Home now, but flower beds were ignored by yard man I had hired and everything is so overgrown. Been excessively wet, so waiting to work on them. A Master Gardener said not to weed when the ground is wet. It stirs up any diseases, spores, etc that are in the ground and can do more harm than good. Had not known that before. Any input from any of you?

  3. Lori Beem says:

Peonies are my absolute favorite! They smell amazing! They are the magic of Summer.

  1. Winnie Nielsen says:

We are already having hay cuttings down here in Florida. Many farmers can get 2-3 cuttings a year if the weather cooperates. Our biggest challenge this time of year and going forward is getting 3 days in a row that don’t have rain.

  2. Nancy Coughlin says:

Love photos of old, weathered buildings. Stunning! Farmers here in PA are having to deal with too much rain and very soggy fields.

  1. Winnie Nielsen says:

What a lovely gift from your Girls and they look so beautiful in that rustic basket with little flowers!

Guess what? We had a new Farmgirl join the Sisterhood and she lives right here in town!! We are meeting up Friday afternoon for a visit to chat. How lucky is that?

    • MaryJane says:

That is great news! Every morning about this time, I think, “TODAY, I am going to write Winnie!!” And then every day ends with me falling into bed asleep before my second foot even gets off the ground. Summer is awesome but it’s a crazy busy time for me, plus I’m milking two cows every morning, making cheese, etc. Other changes also. Let’s catch up. Soon!!!!! I’ve been missing you.

      • Winnie Nielsen says:

I would love that! Whenever you have spare time works for me. I understand you are crazy busy these days. We could also do a phone call if that would be easier for your schedule. Sometimes when you push correspondence to the end of a day and have to write at the computer, it just doesn’t work! So, you let me know what is going to be best for you.

We will be at the beach on July 7-8 for my birthday next week but other than that, we are here. Lawsy Mercy but it is hot down here in the South right now with high humidity and temperatures. Rain, Sun, Steamy, more rain, Sun……… every day is the same!

  2. Deborah McKissic says:

What a pretty basket of gatherings! That is what I was up to this morning…gathering while the rain is not present…though, the cucumbers are enjoying all the rain and it looks like another pickle making summer!

  3. Nancy Coughlin says:

Prefer brown eggs and these are so pretty!
