Buy props used in MaryJane’s books and magazine!
5% of profits will benefit www.firstbook.org, a non-profit that provides new books to children from low-income families throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Here’s how:
MaryJane will post a photo and a description of a prop and its cost along with a few details as to its condition here: https://shop.maryjanesfarm.org/MaryJanesCurations. It’s a playful way to be the new owner of a little bit of farm herstory.

Wondering who I am? I’m Merit Badge Awardee Jane (MBA Jane for short). In my former life …
Howdy, girls! MBA Jane here. Working on my Beginner Level Farmgirl Grammar Badge. A new word every day for two weeks—whew! That’s a lot of reading in my big ol’ bright-red dictionary (but it totally matches my new red shoes, so whatevs).

Giveaway: Reinvention: Sewing with Rescued Materials WINNER!

Two weeks ago I asked what your last re-purposed project was for a chance to win a copy of the book Reinvention: Sewing with Rescued Materials.
And today we have our winner! Since my grandgirls weren’t here today, I had to go in search of some other youngsters to help us choose our winner …

I make shopping bags too! They’re fun to sew, and I think much more sturdier than the ones offered in stores!

Families Forever

Wondering who I am? I’m Merit Badge Awardee Jane (MBA Jane for short). In my former life …
Some badges are just plain tasty. Homemade potato chips, organic grocery shopping …
Visiting Gramma Barbie in Florida this week gave me a fabulous chance to earn my Families Forever Badge. Not only was I going to be there (in Gramma’s posh retirement home—hellooooooo, pool boys), but Auntie Skipper and Auntie Kelly were visiting as well. It was the perfect chance for some good old-fashioned fun …
Game Night!

Ahh the French people in general are beautiful!! I am currently in Paris on vacation and have found myself quite mesmerized by them all. Ohh, La,La!! And board games? Can I just say somebody has to lose??? That would be me. Being the youngest by many years in a family, playing games with older brothers was a sure recipe to ALWAYS be the one to lose! I still can’t figure out how they managed to win every single time.

Board Games–Yeah!! When our kids lived home we had one night a week called “Family nite”, and we played all sorts of board games. That was always so much fun. Now when we get together, which isn’t as often as I’d like as they live 11 & 22 hours away from us, we play cards.Their favorite is euchre. I usually get eliminated in the first round. That’s perfectly okay though, s then I play board games with the grandgirls. Their favorite is CandyLand. They’re both very good at it. But most importantly, we are building memories for a lifetime!

Scrapbooking

Wondering who I am? I’m Merit Badge Awardee Jane (MBA Jane for short). In my former life …
Since I’ve been in the homemade gift-giving spirit lately, I decided to just keep on going with the flow and work on my other Stitching and Crafting Merit Badge: Scrapbooking.
Now I know what y’all are saying: has Jane been living under a rock? We’ve all been scrapbooking since like, 2003! Well, I don’t mind saying, sometimes I’m behind the times and I just haven’t gotten around to all the fun girly crafts yet. I mean, I just now learned how to stamp and that whole craze is pretty much over. Ah well.
(My inspiration poster. I added my boyfriend, Mr. Wonderful, after we met last year. It was love at first sentence!)
That is bee-utiful.
