Hanging out clothes makes me feel like a real farm/ pioneer woman; accomplished! You cannot find a smell like that in any bottle.

  3. Juliana Baker says:

I flash back to Grandmas back yard. Grandpa notched the end of a board to prop up the line as she hung more and more on it. I can still see that every time I hang my own clothes out. And I have 10 of the All American Clothes Pins I use. The others are cheapies and don’t even come close in quality!

  4. Janet says:

I love hanging stuff on the line.. it reminds me of when it was all I had

    Hanging laundry on the line,
    makes me feel refreshed and fine;
I breathe deep, reaching that sheet,
    the clean laundry smelling sweet.

  6. Sandy Worley says:

Hanging my laundry outside brings back all the memories of times past when I was a young girl in Nebraska lucky enough to be living next door to my Grandparents. Everyone hung their laundry outside back then. Those were wonderful bonding times with family & I treasure some of those memories each time I take my laundry out to dry……..

  7. Tammy Sheehan says:

Hanging laundry, like harvesting a basket of vegetables on a summer day, reminds me that God has fashioned for us an abundant world. We have only to open our arms and gather the sunshine.

  8. Marilyn Horstmann says:

There is nothing more satisfying that having your laundry finished and drying in the summer breezes. Then I can relax with my favorite mug filled with hot tea and Mary Jane’s magazine. Good times!

  9. Alice Connelly says:

I love hanging out laundry because it makes me feel that I am leaving a smaller footprint on the earth The
Smell of line dried clothes cannot be matched

  10. Linda says:

When I have opportunity to hang my clothes on a clothesline (not very often these days), I thoroughly enjoy the fresh air and (hopefully) sunshine. I also become nostalgic. It reminds me of childhood days when I would sometimes get to help my “second mom” with laundry. She had an old wringer-type washer, then would set the freshly-washed clothes and sheets in the basket to carry them out to the clothesline in the backyard.

  11. Rae says:

I love the smell and feel of clothes, especially sheets, blown in the wind. I also enjoy knowing I am saving money on my electric bill and to me it is just a sense of freedom, relaxing and winter is over 😉

  12. Natalia Showalter says:

Hanging out laundry is part of a life well lived. My mother taught me to hang like things together, something I didn’t understand until I was older. Now I realize there is a certain beauty in order, in having purpose in small things. I love the fresh air, the sun on my face, and the repertoire of birdsong as I enjoy the quiet of early morning. And of course the luxury of sleeping between line dried sheets. I am BLESSED!

  13. Becky Freeman says:

I love hanging clothes out in the summer. The clothes smell so fresh and clean after being cooped up all winter.

  14. Susan Sargentini says:

Hanging the laundry is one of the blessings my mother taught me years ago. I love doing it and think of her each time. As I hang the clothes, I am fortunate to have a view of the mountains that lead into Yosemite NP. Truly beautiful. My dryer sits idle as an emergency item. The wind can iron my shirts and tee shirts better than I can. In the heat of summer, I can get two loads hung and unhung before noon. Hanging the laundry out to dry is indeed one of my favorite homemaking blessings.

  15. Colleen says:

In a book I read my little girls years ago, the main character, Felicity made a comment about being on her grandfather place in the country:
“And there was so much to do, and all of it pleasant.”
That thought comes to mind when ever I hang out the laundry. We’ve had no cloths dryer for 14 yrs. now, and see no need in the dry climate at 8000 ft. in the Jemez mountains of New Mexico. The reward when you fall in to bed the night the fresh sheets are put on the bed is so sweet!

  16. Christina Pierce says:

We live as grid free as we can so hanging laundry is one of my luxuries I enjoy. I don’t own a dryer so hanging laundry is all I have but I don’t mind I wouldn’t trade it for a fancy dryer for nothing, because I love the smell of the clean laundry in your hands and the chance to reconnect with nature as your outside……even in the winter months. Although I do have a indoor line for rainy days. I couldn’t imagine doing it any other way.

  17. Lindy says:

I feel really blessed to live where there aren’t any restrictions on clotheslines. It is wonderful to bring in a refreshing load of laundry dried by Mother Nature. Besides, it is free!

  18. susan barger says:

If I don’t win – I will definately be ordering these! I’ve been looking for good clothespins and they are nearly impossible to find!

  19. Jean Sims says:

Just give me a clothes line and “the warm power of the sun”!

  20. Joy Giles says:

I come from a long line of line dryers. As I hang out clothes I often think of those days long past doing this chore with my sister and mother. Often my sister would wrap herself in a sheet as we were taking in the laundry and began her version of ballet. Our German immigrant neighbor would later relate to my mom how he and his wife chuckled as they watched her flail around the yard.

  21. Karen Jensen Young says:

Having grown up with a clothesline and loving the smell of fresh dried laundry, I am looking forward to building a clothesline at our new home soon.

  22. Joy Pascarella says:

While riding out toward Ohio on vacation on year, I saw an Amish clothes line that ran from the house to a big, tall windmill. I was so impressed to see the clothes ,all dark dresses and pants, flapping in the wind, that as soon as we got home, I had my husband help me put one up. It didn’t go as high up as that tall windmill but at least I was able to see my colorful sheets and towels flapping in the wind just like the family’s I saw on vacation. Hopeful someone will see my clothes line and do the same thing. It make you feel you are working with nature, as it was meant to be.

  23. susan Sims says:

Hanging out my sheets reminds me of my childhood days on the farm, when Mom washed with the wringer washer and hung everything on the line and used the pants stretchers on Daddys Jeans. What memories the fresh sheet smell brings back.

  24. susan Sims says:

Hanging out ;my sheets reminds me of my childhood days on the farm, when Mom washed with the wringer washer and hung everything on the line and used the pants stretchers on Daddys Jeans. What memories the fresh sheet smell brings back. Mom is 92 and still hangs out the wash.

  25. susan Sims says:

Hanging out clothes reminds me of my childhood days on the farm , where my 92 year old Mother still hangs out her clothes. She washed back then with a ringer washer and used pants stretchers on Daddys jeans. What memories the sundrenched smell brings back .

  26. annabel Barnes says:

From putting those wet clothes into a basket and pulling them in a red wagon I feel like a kid again.Doing it the grandma way makes me feel endeared by my grandma.I somehow feel good about using nature to reserve energy.Pinning those shirts and jeans up makes me proud to be a woman. Then retrieving those crispy clothes is a reward of a job well done!

  27. Katherine Kalbach says:

There is something about hanging clothes to dry on a clothesline that feels completely natural. It reminds me of my childhood, when life felt calmer and at a slower pace. I continue the practice today because it is earth friendly and a methodic, mindful, and relaxing experience 🙂

  28. Debbie Smith says:

Hanging out laundry is my favorite housekeeping task. It connects me with my mother, my grandmother and all the women before them who performed the same task in their own day. I love creating symmetry out of the shapes and colors, surrounded by the nurturing sounds and sights of nature, no matter the season. The sad part though, is the decreasing quality of clothespins. I am delighted to come across these high quality sturdy wooden clothespins, and can’t wait to get my hands on some! Thanks for offering a chance to win!

  29. Debra Blodgett says:

I love the way the Clothes feel on the line when they are finally Dry. The type of Cloths Pins in the contest would work just Great. Thanks

  30. Gayl Weiser says:

What can be sweeter than sheets that have been washed and hung neatly on a clothesline to dry. The feel and tantalizing perfume from wind and air and sun, when you crawl between those sheets is a treat that is worthy of respect. Nothing beats drifting off to sleep on crisp sheets, sun dried, cool on your skin; after a hard days work in the sun!
I have been forced out of the country, and am temporarily living in an apartment in the city, where hanging anything out to dry is frowned upon. How sad this makes me. But only temporarily; as I search for my little home in the country, where I can once again raise chickens, gather herbs that I grow and hang my sheets in the glorious sunshine!!

  31. susan b says:

I hang out anything and everything from spring to fall. I can’t wait for the first crisp breeze to hang my sheets out on. As an added incentive – I make myself deep clean the room! What’s the point of clean sheets without a pristine bedroom to sleep in?!? (I must admit my daughter does the towels while I’m at work – my kids don’t really care for line dried “crunch” towels – so she sneaks them in the dryer when I’m gone!)

  32. Gina says:

Hanging clothes outside to dry is a privilege that many don’t get to enjoy. The fresh scent of outside-dried clothes and linens is unsurpassed by almost any other smell around. To save electricity, be outside, have scented clothes……it makes me feel rich and happy to hang clothes outside to dry.

  33. Barbara K says:

WOW!!! I just love the smell and feel of clothes right off the line…and we save so much! Can’t help but smile.

  34. Susanne says:

I LOVE the smell of laundry fresh off the line and I love the simplicity and the relaxation of the process. At a former house my clothesline was above a bed of lilies of the valley. It was an absolute treat to hang the laundry during blooming season!

  35. Sherri Getchel says:

Nothing better than the smell of freshly, line hung, sheets!

  36. DianeM says:

OMGoodness, nothing gets your whites whiter than drying them outside in the sun…plus the smell is unmatchable!
    Smiles, DianeM

  37. Eileen E says:

Hanging laundry in the sunshine makes me feel like I’m dancing with the garments as they sway in the breeze…like I don’t have a care in the world.

  38. Linda says:

Hanging my bedsheets on the line to dry in the warm sunshine makes me Happy! There is nothing like climbing in a freshly made bed made with sun dried sheets … If only the the sweet smell could be captured.

  39. Ashley says:

Laundry lines inspire me! Before we owned our farmstead, clothes on a laundry line symbolized my dream of owning land and being a homesteader. I knew that once I had my own clothing line that the dream would be a reality.
My husband and I completed our clothing line last month and all my dreams are reality.

  40. Madelyn Shields says:

There is nothing better than hanging clothes on the line. Having good clothes pins to use make the job fun as well as being able to hang the clothes neatly and in a way that the breeze can blow through them. Clothes pins that grip the line takes the work out of having to go back and rehang them like the old slide-on pins coming loose or break in half. I remember those type of clothes pins and they could be a pain. Also, the clothes retain the clean smell of the outdoors and are healthier because they also are filled with oxygen. Oh such a sweet experience.

  41. Mikayla G. says:

Laundry on the line makes me feel I am a true Farmgirl. The beautiful smell of the organic cotton mixed with the twine laundry line and fresh flowers in the air, just makes me want to jump up and down! So I put on my apron, hang up my laundry, go frolic with the chickens, and hopefully someday, cows and goats, and live life as a Farmgirl!

  42. Kerri says:

Every time I hang my clothes on the line it takes me back to growing up in Colorado. At that time we didn’t own an electric dryer so we had to use the clothes line. I remember how you could stand in one place and spin the clothes line around to put clothes on. My favorite thing is hanging the clothes out on a bright sunny day when I know they’ll dry fresh in no time. It’s a blast from the past which I have enjoyed for over 10 years now.

  43. Lynne says:

I got away from hanging laundry outside some years ago. Recently our drier broke and I started hanging my laundry again. It was a very nostalgic activity. I pulled out the clothespin bag that my mother always used (circa 1945) and started hanging clothes. In the bag were old, old, old clothespins from my grandmother and mother and some that had tiny pink and blue bows that had been used at my cousins baby shower in 1962. I remembered hanging sheets with my grandmother in Denver when I was a child and racing out to bring in the laundry before the afternoon rain….and the smell of sundried laundry. So many memories from that broken dryer.

  44. There is nothing more refreshing than the smell of clothes just in from the clothesline, especially sheets. My mother always hung out the clothes and I guess I inherited that from her.

  45. Nothing is better than crawling into a bed of fresh from the clothesline sheets, they smell so fresh and clean. My mother always hung clothes out and I guess that is where I get my love for hanging out laundry.

  46. Toni Kay Bennett says:

Hanging clothes on the line makes me feel 25 again. A new mom with my little guy at my feet, playing in the basket with the clothes pins-too young to hurt himself, cos he couldnt pinch themnopen yet, and for a very brief time the freedom and fun of being a stay at home mom!

  47. Debbie Jackson says:

Hanging out laundry is about the most relaxing things to do and I bet if even lowers your blood pressure! The feel and smell of the clean dry laundry makes you feel so content. I even made myself a cute clothespin hanger from a tiny blue jean baby girls dress, it was so easy and one of a kind.

  48. It makes me feel closer to my mother and grandmother. I really love crawling in to bed fresh sheets off the clothes line, they smell so fresh and clean.

  49. There is nothing like climbing into a bed of fresh sheets just in from the clothesline.

  50. I love the fresh clean smell of laundry on the clothes line, reminds me of my mom and grandmother
