Up until midnight Sept. 3, we tossed your names (326 to be exact) into my hat (actually Mia’s wheelbarrow) for a mighty good glamporific giveaway …

The lucky winner receives two free nights in my B&B (June 15 & 16, 2013) that include one free glamp-mate companion. The giveaway also includes a $300 travel reimbursement check toward gas or airfare once our winner arrives.

“I pre-ordered your glamping book because a few months ago I purchased a 1968 Frolic camper that we are now in the process of restoring. Once it is done, I can’t wait to take her out and go glamping. I have already made blankets and pillows; the curtains and towels are on the list to be done. The whole idea of a comfortable getaway is very thrilling.”

Just a word about WHY we didn’t draw the name while on the road: “Stay tuned right here for my drawing that will take place in a glampground, somewhere between here and the Black Hills of South Dakota—streaming live from my Airstream.” I took a printer for my laptop with me on our odyssey. For the first part of our trip, everything worked like a charm, until that one big bump in the road near Dillon, Montana, that sent my printer flying from its designated place and onto the floor of my Airstream, plastic parts everywhere. Amazingly, once I got it home and put it back together, the thing fired up and still works. If you’re looking for a beyond-sturdy printer, I paid $60 for a Brother HL2240. What a great traveling companion it proved to be.

    I order two books…..one for my daughter and one for me. We both love camping and do it in a glamping style. My daughter lives in California and “glamps” when camping. She cooks gourmet meals, etc. and amazes her friends that camp with her. I love the magazine and have all the your other books.     I have enjoyed reading your posts and your website. This is why I bought the book at Amazon! I can’t wait to get it; and I am inspired by the rich beauty and charm that your photos portray. The world of glamping is new to me; but I have always been a camper (mostly wilderness) and; as my husband and I grow older; we are now ready for some long distance travel. We visited Idaho briefly on one of two road trips we have taken in the past two years from Virginia. We made it to the west coast both times. Next year, I would like to see more of Idaho; and would dream of staying at the Bed and Breakfast! I enjoy the simplicity and elegance that your farmlife and glamping seem to represent. It draws the individual down the pathway of a nature; and to a more serene life; which is what we all need, in this busy, time conscience world. Blessings!

We have moved more than a few times with military orders but now settled in Fairhope, AL.     This awaited book will be a treat for me and my sweetie who is now finishing up his second retirement vintage trailer restoration. It’s a 22′ 1962 Streamline Duchess with a Hawaian theme. I’ve just finished the curtains and am working on the seat covers for the booth. Plumbing is almost finished and the heater is going back in. Ebay has been successfuly gleaned for raffiaware, melmac and bamboo themed stainless for the kitchen. Vintage Revereware has been buffed to look like new as will the trailer itself when she has her final polish. When we win the fabulous B&B weekend we’ll bring the Duchess and you can sleep there while we stay at your place. Annie G

    I ordered the Glamping book for several reasons. I love all of your stuff. I used to drive from Akron, CO to Greeley just to find your magazine in Borders!

    My husband and I are cleaning up a 13 acre “spread” that we must sell in order to pay for his parent’s health needs. Once we do this, we will be, well, homeless! We have decided to sell just about everything we own and buy a second hand something to turn into a Glampmobile. Our inheritance is solid gold – 3 beautiful pomeranians to add to our one so we need lots of good ideas in order to carry all of us in comfort and style!

    My neighbors renovated a 1962 Avian 24′ and did such a wonderful job that I bought the book as a gift to them. It took them 3 years to refit and rebuild from the axles up, keeping it as original as possible. We (my husband and I staying in a B&B) have traveled with them and have watched how much they enjoy their rolling home. I wanted to give them a book that complimented their efforts. Also because of Alicia’s work.

    I recieved the book a week ago and it is amazing, cover to cover, wonderful details and wonderful pictures. It is a great addition to the MJF Library. Somewhere between the magazines and the books, you could take them all glamping, and make yourself a weekend of epic Mary Jane Farm stuff.

I joyfully ordered Mary Jane’s GLAMPING book today from Amazon because I am so inspired to get in touch with the world as you–and the pioneering women of the past–already know, harmonize with, and respect. I spent the night “camping” in the family mini-van, parked on the driveway, in a downpour just after I first read about Mary Jane sleeping outside, under the stars after she put her babies to bed just inside the house. Actually, it’s not for me, but my mom who loves the RV-life–except that she and my dad haven’t been healthful enough to take more than 1 trip this past summer, but were grateful for that. I gave Mom a subscription to your magazine 2 years ago, for Christmas, after communing with your blessed farm life myself via magazine the past few years BECAUSE IT IS THE LIFE THAT MY GRANDMOTHER TAUGHT, AND MY MOTHER PASSED ON to me. I have become more “citified,” having left my native South Dakota almost 25 years ago, but I have faithfully sojourned back every summer to fish Walleye at the Secret Fishing Spot where my parents have first taught my daughters about REEL LIVING! I sighed happily, reading of your Glamping in the “Paha Sapa,” or beautiful Black Hills, of my beloved South Dakota. Though this summer’s trip back meant nursing my mom’s health for a month and tending her garden, instead of fishing, I promised her next summer we would camp (‘glamp”) even writing down Mary Jane’s farm in Idaho at the TOP of the list.     My ‘Sweet Spot’ is the ’63 Yellowstone parked in the backyard, overlooking my ‘lil bit of paradise. I lusted for it until it came to be mine many years ago. The hand-thrown pottery by Sarah Dudgeon, the leopard-print carpet and the paisley-upholstered cushions make it home. My friends think it’s the best tea-house ever, I think it’s a great escape but it’s hearing my grandbabies say “Gamma, can we go campering?” that really makes my day. I ordered “Glamping” within minutes of reading about it because I love to see what kindred spirits are doing with their ‘Sweet Spots’.     I ordered your book because I recently just discovered Glamping and it has sparked something inside of me. I find myself looking online for vintage campers. Glamping in my mind fills my heart with memories I had when I was little and we would take off on a family road trip every summer (in a camper) and the other families we met at camp sites plus stories we shared just give me a good feeling. I long for the day to be surrounded by others who enjoy easy going outdoor mingling with a touch of glamour added to camping by ones craft or garage sale find and then hearing the story behind it.
