I use an old toothbrush dampened with baking soda to clean around the jets in my tub.
Using magic erase sponges or cleaning with homemade herbal cleaners. They smell so good.
toothbrush in small places with baking soda
I like to make my own all purpose cleaner! Much cheaper, and I never run out!
I’m becoming more and more aware of the harmful chemicals used in cleaning products, not only for our environmental health but also our physical health. I would love to give Liquid Sunshine a try.
I would love to try this product. Thank you
I keep a spray bottle of half and half water and vinegar under my sink. When my puppies have an accident in the house I wipe up then spray and wipe again. I use for other things as well.
Have to say I’m with a lot of the other natural ladies here. I really like to use vinegar and water or combination of vinegar and baking soda for safe and effective cleaning.
A great cleaning tip for getting that fresh smell of the outdoors back into your Towels is to add 1/2 cup baking Soda to 1 cup Vinger in the wash (no soap). Enjoy
I use essential oils from cleaning to bug prevention. Also, the trusty steam mop is great to clean without chemicals, just steaming water!
How about “cleaning” my elderly FurBabies♡♡? Simply pop them into the bathtub, draw the bathwater ankle deep luxuriating with Puppy Bubblebath, and allow my Babies to frolic in their very own private Puppy Spa?
I spray stains on clothes with peroxide and then rub in a little dish soap on it before laundering.
My cleaning hint is using olive oil with lemon juice for a wood surface cleaner/polish. I recently discovered this mixture and absolutely love the shine it leaves after cleaning the surface.
The Vermont Soap Organics Liquid Sunshine looks like it could be helpful for my husband during football season. He pre-treats grass/mud stains and washes all the high school uniforms himself each week. He’s tried many stain removers, and hasn’t yet found a good stain remover for ground in grass and mud. Hopefully, Liquid Sunshine would be a natural and organic way to solve this issue.
Baking soda, castille soap and peppermint essential oil mixed together makes a great “soft” scrub for sinks, showers, etc.
Sometimes I spill water on wood furniture but don’t know it until white spot appears. I use a small bit of mayonnaise w soft flour cloth and leave on for few hours. Then buff clean and old wood is restored.
drop some denture tablets into a toilet with hard to remove rings.
Works well with little scrubbing.
I would love to try some Liquid Sunshine! For a clean smelling drain, put some baking soda in the drain. Pour some vinegar down the drain . Rinse after a few minutes. Will clean your garbage disposal also.
I learnt it from a very wise 80 year woman I boarded from when I was in my 30’s. It is vinegar. Instead of slaving away and scrubbing those hard to clean pots simply soak with a squirt of dish detergent and hottest water you can make and a splash of vinegar. When you return from errands or wakeup in the morning, it will be done with a swift sponge to remove any that has not fallen from the walls of the pot. Rinse with water and let air dry.
I like to use an old electric toothbrush to tackle grimy areas. It worked wonders removing old smoking tar from a textured glass medicine cabinet that came with our house.
My favorite cleaning tips are that I use baking soda to scour my sinks and white vinegar to clean windows and mirrors.
My grandmother taught me how to knit simple dish cloths and I love how I can use them over and over, toss them in the laundry if they get a “funk” and keep on using them! I can’t remember the last time I used a sponge. A simple knit 2, add 1 until you get the size you like and reduce (knit together 2, add 1, knit together 2 to keep the same pattern on the reduction end).
When I need to disinfect the pantry, cabinets or other food use areas and not use bleach, I mix the following in a spray bottle: 1/2 cup peroxide, 1/4 cup vodka, 1 cup water, and 5 drops of lemon oil. Swirl, don’t shake, and mix up a fresh batch each time because of the peroxide. You can also use grapefruit, thyme, tea tree or another oil if you prefer. Much safer ingredients and safe to spray, unlike bleach.
Bleach and water in a spray bottle. Spray it on stovetop counters kitchen sink tub toilet bathroom and soak then rinse. cleans with no scrubbing
It seems that throughout my many daily activities, I often get a scratch or a cut that bleeds onto clothing, towels or sheets. My favorite method to get any blood stains out is a mixture of Wisk laundry detergent, ammonia and a bit of water. I mix it directly into a spray bottle (clearly marked) and spray onto any stain. I let it set a few minutes, maybe scrub with a small scrub brush and throw it into the washing machine and wash as usual. It has never failed me.
Baking soda, a drop or 2 of lemon essential oil and enough water to make a paste is wonderful for getting the greasy build up off the top of my kitchen cabinets. Then I rinse with a clean damp cloth.
I, too, believe strongly in vinegar and baking soda. Why use chemicals if you don’t have to??
Putting dish liquid in the toilet bowl keeps it clean. Nothing sticks and you don’t have to scrub it.
I’d like to win this soap, give it a try
I use nontoxic cleaners; like baking soda,, vinegar, bon ami, borax. For a carpet cleaner i use vinegar and water; works great.
I like to unclog my drains with baking soda and white vinegar. It’s fun to watch it fizz!
I’m always looking for new “green” solutions to use around the house. I too, like many of the women, use vinegar, baking soda and essential oils throughout the house. My favourite is to diffuse the essential oils so everyone benefits from them. And I always use vinegar in the rinse for laundry. Would love to try the Liquid Sunshine.
I put white vinegar in the softener dispenser of my washing machine when doing laundry. It helps keep the clothes soft and removes odors. On top of that, it keeps the front loader from developing mold around the gasket and keeps the washer smelling fresh.
Lemon and vinegar are my go tos. They work well and the lemon leaves such a fresh scent.
I use a lot of flower vases in our church, but no way to get my hand inside the small neck. So I use either alka seltzer tabs or denture tabs to clean them!
Good old baking soda seems to have a bajillion uses for cleaning! I recently ran out of Ajax, which I use to clean my stainless steel kitchen sinks. I tried baking soda, and it did the trick just fine!
Cleaning tip – removing blood stains from clothes/fabric/carpet. We had a sick dog that had some pretty drastic and sad health problems in his last days. While cleaning the house after – I discovered that hydrogen peroxide does a great job on blood stains.
Tip for woman: Also does a great job on the diva cup !
GOD BLESS YOUR FURBABY♡, KAYLA! Renée Cariglia
I enjoy the idea of using a dry swiffer to dust walls and floors, however the refill pads are quite pricey. I have started using a fuzzy sock pulled over the end instead, so when I’m done I can just toss it in the wash and reuse. It’s cheaper and better for our environment.
When washing windows instead of using a paper towel or cotton rag, I use newspaper. Not streaks, no film. Works like a charm!
I always clean my shower/bathtub while I’m in the shower. Clean it and then clean yourself!
If your kitty has an accident on some clothes, rinse with a table spoon of vinegar and water. Let it soak for 10 mins and then wash. It will neutralize the smell.
I love to clean the kitchen with vinegar that has been infused with orange peels, it really cuts the grease and smells great!
Would love to try liquid sunshine! I like to make my own bleach spray to whiten my old porcelain sinks without scrubbing . About 1/4 cup bleach to one or more cups of water. I have also found that a more concentrated bleach spray kills weeds on sidewalk cracks and rocks.
Save old toothbrushes to use as scrubbers for a variety of kitchen gadgets: cheese grater, garlic press, corners and crevices on blenders and food processors, etc.
Dish soap on stained clothing. A win-win!
I don’t use any chemical cleaners. Baking soda and vinegar are my most common cleaners. They work for almost everything. Organic wool dryer balls work great in the dryer. I have been using Vermont Soap Castile Liquid Soap with Aloe & Olive Oil for years. I would love to try the Liquid Sunshine!
