Blueberry grandeur! Our season is well over, but we enjoyed a U-pick farm in June that also made incredible blueberry wines. They made their wine in three levels of sweetness and each had a distinct blueberry flavor and use. One was heavy and sweet like a Port wine, one was semi-sweet and a nice drinking wine, and one was drier and good for making reduced sauces, vinaigrettes, or drinking if you like that level of dryness. Who would have ever guessed blueberries could be made into truly good wines? We purchased the semi-sweet one and it was delicious with some good cheese.

Oh these western cherries! When I was visiting Kellie, her little sister made me a cherry pie from their friend’s cherry orchard. It was delicious and the sweetest ever gift to receive. We all enjoyed it for lunch together.

Mmmmmm, heirloom tomatoes! Sitting here in the Portland Airport for 7a departure home. It has been a wonderful visit out west, and I am still pitching myself that I am officially FSOTY!! I need that credit added to my Passport. When I get home, I am going to get busy embroidering mine for a jacket! I am thinking your new Hoodies would be a great place for one. Can’t wait to get home and dive head first into getting into my role. Whoop!!! Matching Milk Cow Kitchen quilts!! Maybe sweet Rose Etta will give her “hoof” signature somewhere. I used to have the girls horses officially “sign” birthday cards to them . They loved it even if it meant the card was a bit rumpled on one side!
