  1. Stephanie Lee says:

Wow. My favorite thing to grow… If you look at my garden right now, you would think the answer was weeds. I think my all time favorite is probably the black beans we grew this year. Before we harvested those, my answer would have been peas. Love those little guys fresh from the shell and still warmed by the sun… Yum!

  2. Love growing, drawing, painting strawberries! There’s nothing better than fresh sweet Arkansas grown strawberries

  3. Tami Cole says:

Peas is my favorite. But then again anything you plant from seed and watch it grow is a blessing.

  4. Lynn Ahern says:

My favorite vegetable to grow is cucumbers. I love all the different varieties, especially the lemon cuke. One of my favorite recipes for making pickles is a Russian Dill recipe. I shared a jar of Russian Dills with my friends once and now that is all they ever make with their cucumbers.

  5. Rhonda says:

My favorite veggie I grow in my garden is okra I chop it and put egg and corn meal to freeze to fry for the winter and make tons of pickled okra. I make it as hot as possible for my son in law and only mild for me!! Those are Thanksgiving must haves!!

The apron is wonderful! I just purchased my second Persimmon (Fuyu) tree. This tree grows the beautiful flat ones that I eat like an apple. Crunchy with a taste of honey.

Oh Gosh, hands down, Zucchinni! Those happy, delicious vegetables come in so many shapes, sizes and beautiful healthy colors. They dry, store and cook up so effortlessly and the recipes for what you can put them in!!! My favorite zucchini dish is to lightly fry them in pork grease with a little ground pepper and parmesan cheese…delicious! I’d put a heart emogee if I could 🙂

  8. Gail says:

All I grow are herbs. I plant them in deck rail planters and get to enjoy fresh herbs for months. I also included stevia plant and several lavender plants. The lavender buds I use in my soaps. Someday when not working outside the home I will have a garden of veggies and potatoes and pumpkins.

  9. Rae-Ann Fugate says:

My favorite fruit is cherries and for the third year my husband has harvested the cherries from our own planted tree. Being a Chicago girl having my own fruit trees is amazing. We have apple and plum which are only beginning to put out fruit. So exciting to me. My second favorite is wild raspberries from which I make several fruit crisps each summer. Oh, and our own rhubarb, too. Such fun for a city girl born but farm girl at heart.

  10. Cathryn Riley says:

I love my apple trees! I can share apples with my neighbors and my cows, but the best is making and freezing pies ahead and having them for holidays. Not to mention wearing the “Harvest Apron” while baking would be pretty special!!

To get it to grow up and off the ground my husband built an arch out of PVC pipe and chicken wire so it could climb. Not only is it genius, it’s a very pretty addition to our garden. Our plants are always plentiful and I love sharing the squash with family and neighbors.
