Speaking of flowers, for this awesome flowery GIVEAWAY, we didn’t really use a hat to hold the names, and guess whose meant-to-be name came leaping from the jar?
Terry said on April 10, 2014:
“Looks like you girls had F-U-N in NYC! Central Park was a wonderful place to visit & walk. My favorite piece of material is my first quilt that I made in my first quilting class. It is proudly displayed above my fireplace.”
Congratulations Terry! Watch for an email from the farm so my sis and I can send you a bedroom full of colorful chenille flowers.
And the original post was:
We found our way to New York City again this year. Staying in Manhattan and negotiating the taxi cabs and subways turned into a fun adventure every time we left our snug little hotel room.
We visited the Museum of Natural History (loved it!) …
the American Girl Doll Store, the Legos Store, a Whole Foods Store (to supply our kitchenette with food for the week), and spent lots of time in Central Park.
It was warm when we arrived so we bought new flip-flops …
and ate the biggest desserts ever at Serendipity!
All the while, Dad was busy at Market Week in the fabric district in lower midtown of the big city. We did meet up with him and the wonderful crew we work with, also a family-owned business. They even have a new little addition to their family, too. My sis and I are starting to be the big kids of the bunch!
While Dad wore his tie all week, we showed up proper, in our farm boots, of course! But my sis and I are pretty sure they’re happy to have real farmgirls add an authentic touch to their showrooms.
Oh, and speaking of …
Would you like to get your hands on one of our chenille bedspreads? Because I’m giving away one of Nanny’s MaryJane’s Home Chenille Queen Bedspreads (this one is called Colorful Chenille). I’ll even toss in two standard pillow shams and one decorative pillow that are sold separately. (Don’t worry. If you don’t win, you can find our bedding at Belk.com. The Colorful Chenille bedspread hasn’t been released yet, but will be soon!)
Leave a comment here telling me what your favorite piece of fabric in your house is (mine is my blankie that I’ve had since I was born), and we’ll enter your name in our GIVEAWAY. We’ll put you in a hat (I mean your name) and pull out a winner … stay tuned for that! Meanwhile …
we made it home safely and were happy to be home and snuggle up with our Nanny Jane for a bed time story.
