My favorite dessert to make and take is what’s called “strawberry delight!” When I ask my kids what I can bring to a family get-together, this is the dessert most requested. It has a crust, which can very easily be adapted to gluten-free, and actually calls for frozen strawberries. It must be kept in the freezer until it is served.

YUMMO.

  40. Kathy says:

I love so many desserts! But anything caramel flavor is not on my list. My favorite dessert is Persimmon Pudding. it’s really a dense steamed cake my grandmother used to make for Christmas. Not a fruit cake, but it did have currants, walnuts, raisins, and cinnamon. She poured the batter into a buttered 1lb tin coffee can, put the lid on(it was tin, also) and set it in a bigger pan of warm water. Low temp for about 2hrs until firm. After that, she would wrap it in cheesecloth and baste it with whiskey or rum a few times until it was cool. She made a lemon sauce to go with it, but my favorite was her homemade whipped cream(lots of it!) ..mmm..

  41. Tracy Roy says:

Grandma’s 7-layer cookies! Pressed graham cracker and melted butter bottom, then chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, coconut, a can of sweetened condensed milk, nuts on top and bake! You can’t believe how good this is.
